The Restorative Program Director will verse the Restorative Nursing Program in the Nursing Facility.
Responsibilities:
Duties Performed:
1. Functions as the direct supervisor of the designated Restorative Aides. The Restorative
Program Director coordinates the provision of restorative nursing services.
2. Meets with Restorative Aides as a group once a week to discuss issues related to the
provision of restorative nursing services.
3. Meets with each Restorative Aide on a weekly basis, to review the status of individual
resident programs, review charting, and to provide input to the Restorative Aide on their
skills
4. Acts as primary liaison with the professional therapist. Is present at evaluations when
possible, and coordinates the implementation of restorative programs or suggestions
made by the professional therapists for nursing staff to follow.
5. Attends Care Plan meetings to provide input regarding the restorative needs of residents.
6. Monitors, on an ongoing basis, all aspects of the Restorative Programs being offered.
7. Coordinates with the In-service Coordinator the continuing education of Restorative
Aides and the general nursing staff on topics related to restorative services.
8. Evaluates residents and establishes programs and goals for restorative nursing programs
not requiring input from professional therapists.
9. Represents the Restorative Nursing Program to families, physicians, and other individuals
involves in the resident’s care.
10. Conducts the annual review of Restorative Aides
