    • School LPN/RN position available to begin ASAP! 
    • Location: Cicero, IL 60804
    • Full time Hours: M-F 7:45a – 3:15p
    • Will provide 1:1 care for a medically complex student at one elementary school
    • Must be a LPN or above with prior school based experience. 
    • Must hold an active Illinois nurse license.

    Responsibilities

    Administers a comprehensive school nuring program 
    ▪To participate in the health appraisal and health counseling of children including interpretations of the results of health examinations to school personnel, parents and the child, and to assist in planning the modification of the school programs to meet special needs of the children.
    ▪To serve as a liaison between school, home and community agencies in health matters and to conduct home visits to obtain a health history.
    ▪To provide emergency care to the seriously ill or injured in accordance with established policies and procedures and to assist in establishing policies for the administration of minor first aid and the handling of routine illnesses by others.
    ▪To maintain a cumulative health record for every child, to cooperate with and participate in the obtaining of physical examination records and such other records as may be required by law, and to conduct vision and hearing screening programs for selected grades and children as may be determined by law.
    ▪To assume responsibility for selection and referral of students in need of medical and dental care.
    ▪To report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics and other agencies on school medical matters.
    ▪To assist in the development and maintenance of a healthful school environment including the development of a continuous program for the prevention and control of communicable disease.
    ▪To perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Licensed Nurse Practitioner, Completion of training necessary for licensing as a registered nurse and experience in pediatrics and/or public health nursing preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS This employee must be certified by the American Nurses' Association (ANA) or the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and State license where currently employed.
