HealthPRO Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in Leonardtown, Maryland!

 

This is a full-time, non-contract opportunity with an immediate need and a projected start date of September 14, 2026. The selected candidate will support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting. Specific assignment details and locations may vary.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary based on the specific assignment and student needs and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Supporting students in accessing academic instruction and educational materials
  • Collaborating with teachers, families, related service providers, and other members of the educational team
  • Participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as appropriate
  • Providing consultation and resources to school staff regarding the educational needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Supporting communication, language development, self-advocacy, and academic success
  • Maintaining required documentation and student records
  • Traveling between school locations as needed based on assignment requirements

Specific responsibilities and assigned locations will be determined based on student and program needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Current Maryland Teaching license with appropriate Deaf and Hard of Hearing licensure/endorsement
  • Candidates with a valid out-of-state teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education may be considered, subject to Maryland licensure requirements
