Position Details

  • Location: Augusta, GA
  • Position: Special Education Teacher (SPED)
  • Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
  • Pay: $41–$44 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Employment Type: W-2

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students by creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning and developmental needs
  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
  • Maintaining required documentation and participating in IEP meetings
  • Supporting students academically, socially, and behaviorally
  • Creating a positive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence

Qualifications

  • Active Georgia Special Education teaching certification (GaPSC License)
    • Paraprofessional certification not accepted; must be a Teacher with Special Education endorcement
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for helping students reach their full potential
