Overview

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter (PRN)
Location: Cherry Creek, CO
Position Type: PRN (As Needed)
Pay Rate: $40–$45 per hour

 

We are seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide professional interpreting services in Cherry Creek, Colorado on a PRN basis. The interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and hearing individuals in a variety of settings.

This role requires strong fluency in ASL and English, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret accurately and impartially in real-time.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa

  • Provide interpretation services in professional settings such as educational, medical, clinical, or office environments

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

  • Research subject matter in advance when technical or specialized terminology is involved

  • Demonstrate strong listening skills, memory retention, and clear expressive signing

  • Collaborate with staff and clients to ensure effective communication access

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Strong memory and real-time processing ability

  • Ability to interpret technical or complex subject matter

  • Professionalism and confidentiality

  • Cultural competency and sensitivity

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in American Sign Language, Sign Language Interpreting, Communications, English, or related field

    • Associate degree programs in ASL or interpreting will also be considered

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English

  • Prior interpreting experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture and professional interpreter ethics
