Location: Jennings Center in Garfield Heights, OH

Rate Range: $42-$49/hr based on years of experience

More about this position:

Multiple essential talents needed across the board are:  development ability,  organization and planning and execution of 2 new programs on a rolling concurrent schedule every 3-4 months among all location (Garfield AL, HSR AL, 3 IL apt bldgs.) and sites (Garfield and Brecksville), self-motivated, work independently, public speaking/teaching, creative,  necessary communication with Jennings Admin (Administrator, Charge Nurses, Primary staff) alongside with the residents.

 

We are seeking an entrepreneurial occupational therapist to establish and lead two new initiatives — the Discovery Series education program and Balance Clinics — at our Garfield campus and Jennings at Brecksville communities.

This role will focus on program creation, resident engagement, and service development to grow an outpatient OT caseload generated from these programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist interested in innovation, program building, and expanding therapy services across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment: Patient Assessment: Evaluate clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
  • Treatment and Education: Create personalized treatment plans to meet clients' goals and enhance their functional abilities. Educate clients and their families on improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for clients' needs and support them in accessing community resources, services, and accommodations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or license eligible
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Proficient in developing and implementing effective treatment plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist patients as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
