Full-time Transport Rehab Tech

Wage range- $17-$18 hourly
Our Retirement Care Community in Riverdale, NY is seeking a dependable and caring Full-Time Transport Rehab Tech to join our therapy team. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting the rehabilitation process by safely transporting residents from their rooms to the therapy department. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, and committed to ensuring residents feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapy visits. Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to safely, courteously and accurately provide escort/transport of residents/patients to scheduled rehab therapy and/or clinic appointments and/or therapeutic activities of choice in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
• Responsible for pick-up and return of daily transport assignment sheets and two-way radio.
• Safely transports/escorts resident/patient to and from scheduled appointments and activities in a timely manner, following transport sheet protocol of locating scheduled resident.
• Responsible for bringing resident’s necessities (i.e. hearing aides, dentures, walker, etc.) and medical chart with resident when transporting to medical and rehabilitation appointment.
• Appropriately completes Resident Destination Sheet and Transport Sheet for every resident and chart transported.
• Reports unusual resident behavior and complaints to nursing staff/designated individual
• Requests assistance when needed.
• Appropriately communicates needs/problems to supervisor.
• Initiates assisting other Wheelchair Aides/Transport Associates and notifies supervisor when work assignment is completed before the end of scheduled shift.
• Demonstrates accurate operation of two-way radio and wheelchair.
• Provides telephone coverage for department when needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

• Use of proper body mechanics and techniques for bearing weight
• Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, and reach when performing daily work
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
• This is a full-time position
• This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work

Qualifications:
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Bachelors or Associate’s Degree Preferred
• Experience preferred in office management, scheduling, and electronic reporting and auditing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
