Healthpro Pediatrics has a great Therapy Aid opportunity in Tampa, FL!

 

  • Therapy Aid - Tampa, FL
  • Part-Time – On-Site - 5 hours a day
  • $20 an hour
  • This is a W-2 position with part time benefits offered (Dental and Vision)
  • Coordinate Therapy Schedule with Virtual Speech Language Pathologist
  • Escort children to and from virtual session to computers to help with logins and manage behavior and attention for session
  • Setting up technology and trouble shooting
  • Facilitate communication with teachers regarding scheduling
  • Clerical duties of filing IEP Paperwork in Cumulative Files and Speech work folders. Training will be provided.

We prefer someone with experience working with children, possible candidates who are currently in college pursuing degrees or certifications in Education, Early Childhood/Childcare, or getting their Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Psychology possibly leading to working in therapeutic fields.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the admission of residents.
  • Reporting any changes in the resident’s condition to nursing.
  • Recording/documenting aspects of care in the medical record, aide book, etc.
  • Providing/Assistant with ADL’s, including daily hygiene, bathing, dressing and dental care.
  • Performing restorative and rehabilitative procedures such as ambulation, range of motion exercises, and positioning the resident.
  • Feeding and assisting with all other activities of daily living.
  • Bed making.
  • Providing a safe and clean environment.
  • Providing an emotional support and social interaction.
  • Preventing accidents and infections.
  • Learning and using safety skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Know and comply with Resident’s Bill of Rights.
  • Ensure resident safety.

Qualifications

  1. Associates Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  2. Successful completion of State Certification Examination for OTA or PTA
  3. Must maintain a valid state COTA or PTA license.
  4. Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
