Responsibilities


• Provide high quality occupational therapy services based on individual therapy plans.
• Assures continuation of therapeutic plan up to and following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment/follow up programs.
• Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
• Maintains patient records confidentially.
• Records treatment charges daily and completes documentation in accurate and timely manner.
• Complies with the applicable State Occupational Therapy Practice Act, codes and regulations.
• Attend team meetings and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic services.
• Participate in parent, community, and professional training efforts.


Additional Responsibilities:
• Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
• Maintains clean work area, clean treatment rooms and requests needed supplies.
• Maintains professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and other professionals as it relates to collaboration of care for the patient.
• Keeps regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
• Directs all patient scheduling matters through the front desk coordinator.
• Attends meetings as requested and performs other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles, techniques, materials and equipment in pediatric occupational therapy.
• Ability to evaluate a patient’s occupational therapy needs and communicate the patient’s needs to the legal guardian and/or appropriate parties involved in the patient’s care.
• Ability to communicate with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of CPT & ICD 10 coding procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of computer programs (EMRs)

• Current State Occupational Therapy Assistant license
• Current CPR certification
• Efficient problem-solving skills
